TS is only 32-bit, so it has a limit (~2GB) to the amount of memory it can address. If you find TS crashing, you may be running out of memory. I lost some valuable work a few years ago and was never able to recover after a major TS crash. I recommend scheduling regular backups for both platforms. You can stay on the release you want for as long as you want. I'm not using TS any more, but I know MultiCharts does not auto-install updates. I think I recompiled all studies via the TradeStation Development Environment, then I was able to run. I remember a workaround to the issue you described, to avoid the reinstall. I am not sure if this is a thing for the multicharts, but I have experienced so many crash for loading a couple of large workspace that I eventually decided to take the multicharts into consideration (in the long run). I could only resolve the issue by completely uninstall and then reinstall the software. It's just too unstable for an automated system.Īlso, if you force closing the the TS10 (when it's freezing), then it would have trouble loading charts if those charts haven't finshed loading when you force closing. Usually, when there is a pending software update, some minor thing could lead to a crash. I have had trouble loading charts, loading finctions, when there is a pending update. Currently there is NO way to block the updates for normal TS10 distribution.
